My family and Jewish community  have been eager supporters of Sharsheret for several years. It is a great honor and opportunity for me to represent Team Sharsheret in a New York event as important and public as the New York Half Marathon. It is a pretty amazing (and non-traditional) way to show support for a great cause and a way to make  an unforgettable sporting experience all the more significant. Also - my first competitive race was on Team Sharsheret for the Susan Komen Race for the Cure in NYC, several years ago. Training for that 5k is what made me start running! After the birth of my daughter, I decided to really focus on running as my primary exercise activity. I find it mentally and physically rewarding.

Running various races including this Half-Marathon are wonderful ways to work on my character, self-discipline and health. It seems appropriate that my first NYC Half Marathon should be with Team Sharsheret as I  just ran the Las Vegas Half Marathon this December!  When not running through the streets of Teaneck, NJ and Manhattan, you can find me with my family, that is, my son Choni, daughter, Keshet and husband, Gavriel Z. Bellino, who is the Rabbi of the Sixteenth Street Synagogue in Union Square.

Please support me and Sharsheret as I take on this incredible challenge in NYC.
