It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret. I personally have been affected by breast cancer. My mother was diagnosed and taken by this disease by the young age of 40. I have also watched my best friend fight and loose her battle with breast cancer. I know many others who have had to fight breast cancer or are doing so at the present time. Sharsheret has been there to provide the vital support they were seeking. As I continually heard about the wonderful resource Sharsheret is for many friends and thousands of other women nationally, I wondered how I could do more and make a difference.  By joining Team Sharsheret for the New York City Half Marathon, I found my answer.
