I
have never done any sort of running before signing-up to take on this incredible challenge. My father used to be a marathon runner until a knee injury forced him to switch to biking. I've always toyed with idea but never put it into action. Then, I received an email from Sharsheret about running as part of their Team. It was perfect timing as now that I am in college, I find myself truly missing the camaraderie of my high school basketball team and the feeling of being a part of a group. The combination of competing in the NYC Half-Marathon in support of such an important cause seemed like the perfect use of my time.
To me, racing in support of Sharsheret is an incredible opportunity to do something that not only benefits myself but also those who have been affected by breast cancer or ovarian cancer. Everyone knows someone that has been diagnosed with breast cancer or ovarian cancer. I'm running the NYC Half-Marathon with Team Sharsheret in support of this outstanding organization and in honor of the woman affected by these diseases. Please support me in my efforts.
