It’s with great pride that I’ll be running the NYC Half-Marathon this March to benefit Sharsheret.  Breast and ovarian cancer strike Jewish women earlier and more often than all other ethnic groups. Sharsheret helps address the many unique challenges faced not only by Jewish women, but by young women when presented with a positive diagnosis.  That's why it's also with great love that I’ll be running to honor all my friends and family who have bravely dealt with breast and ovarian cancer.

I’m sure that I strike most as an improbable distance runner.  I'm a law professor by trade, which means that my daily life is more "Paper Chase" than "Chariots of Fire."  And although I'm more zaftig than gazelle-like, this will be my second half-marathon and one of countless distance runs.  For me, running has become almost meditative.  It lets me clear my mind and truly enjoy the energy I'm able to create.  So when I run with Team Sharsheret this March, it will be especially meaningful to know that I'll be running for others as well as for myself.
