Sharsheret, The Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) of Metropolitan Washington, and Sarah’s Sisters of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington will sponsor "Jewish Women and Breast Cancer: Breaking the Silence," on Sunday November 2nd. Conference topics will include the latest information about breast cancer prevention, treatment and diagnostic testing; genetic testing in Jewish women; fertility after cancer treatment; alternative and complementary therapies; living with and beyond breast cancer; and Jewish healing and spirituality. Sharsheret will join thousands of women and men gathering in New York’s Central Park to participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s Race for the Cure, a monumental breast cancer fundraising and awareness event. This year, dozens of Sharsheret volunteers, friends, and family members will come together to form "Team Sharsheret" for the 5K race. Race registration and entry fee is $25 per participant with all proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
