Hundreds Expected to Join Team Sharsheret For Breast Cancer Races

Hackensack, New Jersey (July 28, 2004) — This fall, Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women facing breast cancer, will join thousands of women and men gathering in New York City’s Central Park to participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s Race For The Cure and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Hundreds of Sharsheret volunteers, friends, and family members are expected to join Team Sharsheret for these monumental breast cancer fundraising and awareness events to be held on Sunday, September 12, 2004 and Sunday, October 17, 2004.

In 2002, more than 250 women, men, and children joined Team Sharsheret and earned the praise of then-Walk Manager Karen Borkowsky, “What a Team!,” Borkowsky wrote in a note thanking Sharsheret for its participation. “Together we are making positive steps in the fight against breast cancer.”
This year, Team Sharsheret will be sponsored by Lucille Roberts, Med-Pat, Glatt Express, diamondsearch.com (a division of A.S. Diamonds), Stern College for Women, Women’s Digital Imaging of Ridgewood, and Perry Chemical Corporation.
