Teaneck, New Jersey (August 29, 2016) – Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of women and families facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, will host a free national webinar, “Healthy Living For Cancer Survivors: Bone Strength, Nutrition, and Exercise,” on Monday, September 26th from 8:00–9:00 p.m. (EST).”

The webinar features a presentation from Dr. Kathryn Schmitz, a professor at Penn State University’s College of Medicine, and an exercise interventionist, about healthy living for breast and ovarian cancer survivorship. Dr. Schmitz will share critical updates cancer survivors need to know to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and a Sharsheret volunteer will share her personal story.  A live question and answer session will follow the presentations.

“Living a healthy lifestyle is critical for breast and ovarian cancer survivorship.  Women reach out to our clinical team with their personal questions about nutrition, exercise, bone health, and lymphedema,” said Director of Support Programs Adina Fleischmann. “The upcoming webinar will offer important, updated information on healthy living, encouraging the women of Sharsheret to live full, healthy lives.”

To register for the upcoming webinar and for log-on instructions, visit www.sharsheret.org or call toll-free 866.474.2774. This webinar is made possible with generous support from Amgen and the Cooperative Agreement DP14-1408 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
