DESCRIPTION:In coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\, Sharsheret has planned two comprehensive\, 90 minute in-service training webinars for our Sharsheret Supports partners and those organizations interested in partnering. The second session will be held on Tuesday\, May 23rd and will explore the proactive ways to mitigate the risk of breast and ovarian diagnosis and reoccurrence\, focusing on nutrition.  Participants will have the opportunity to hear from experts in the field\, ask questions\, and learn about Sharsheret’s Thriving Again Survivorship program. Their Sharsheret Supports Circle meets to offer support to women in the St. Louis Jewish community who have been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer and are anywhere along their treatment path – before\, during\, or post treatment. These casual get-togethers are designed to encourage connections with peers\, health professionals and additional resources. Led by licensed social worker Kathy Bearman\, this group meets from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur. Newcomers are always welcome. Sponsored by Sharsheret Supports\, a project of Nishmah\, the group is open to the Jewish community. Kosher dinner will be served.
