Genetics and “Genomics”: The Ins and Outs of Testing for Patients with Gynecologic Cancer

The words genetics and “genomics” are sometimes used interchangeably, but what exactly do these two terms mean and how are they different? Peggy Cottrell, MS, CGC, Sharsheret’s genetic counselor and Dr. Roisin O’Cearbhaill, Research Director of the Gynecologic Medical Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) will explain the types of tests you may have had and what tests you should consider.
