Dr. Darren Bryk is a board-certified urologist specializing in Men’s Health, currently practicing at Urology Medical Specialists in South Florida. He earned his MD from NYU School of Medicine, completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and pursued advanced training through an Andrology Fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Bryk has contributed extensively to the field through peer-reviewed publications, academic presentations, and podcast appearances focused on urologic health. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Bryk is an active contributor to Sharsheret’s educational and advisory efforts, helping to advance awareness and care within the Jewish community. He and his family are deeply committed to Sharsheret’s mission, supporting the organization’s work with heartfelt dedication.
Dr. Beth Familant Bernick has been a dedicated internist at Boca Raton Regional Hospital for more than two decades, building a career centered on compassionate patient care, education, and advocacy. In July 2022, she faced a personal health challenge when she was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma. She underwent a double mastectomy in August 2022, followed by two additional surgeries. Today, she is doing well and continues to embrace life with gratitude, strength, and resilience.
A passionate advocate for cancer awareness and support, Dr. Familant has been actively involved with Sharsheret since her diagnosis, sharing her story to educate, inspire, and empower others. She also volunteers her time speaking for cancer-related organizations and believes deeply in the importance of self-advocacy and informed decision-making throughout a patient’s healthcare journey.
Dr. Familant is married to Dr. Brian Bernick, an obstetrician-gynecologist/biotech healthcare founder. Together they have two children, Ariella and Gabriel. Ariella is a graduate of Northwestern University and works as a journalist in New York City, while Gabriel is a student at Northwestern University double majoring in journalism and psychology.
Outside of medicine and advocacy, Dr. Familant enjoys staying active through tennis, pickleball, running, Peloton cycling, and fitness classes. She also loves spending time with the family’s Goldendoodle, Miley, who keeps everyone entertained with her playful energy.
Tracey has dedicated her career to helping others live healthy, active lives. She holds a Cancer Exercise Specialist Certification, earned her master’s degree in Exercise Science, and works as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at the David Posnack JCC in Davie, Florida. A proud mom of two, Tracey enjoys running, cheering on her children at sporting events, spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and relaxing at the beach.
At age 25, Tracey learned that she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation. In May 2020, she was diagnosed with Stage IIIB triple-negative breast cancer. Throughout her treatment and recovery, Sharsheret provided support, resources, and connection, helping her navigate her cancer journey. After completing treatment in September 2022, Tracey was inspired to give back to the organization that had been there for her. She joined Sharsheret’s Southeast Community Advisory Committee, shares her story through virtual and in-person educational programs, and serves as an advocate for women facing breast cancer and hereditary cancer risk.
Tracey has also proudly represented Team Sharsheret as a runner in the 2022 Chicago Marathon and the 2025 and 2026 Miami Marathon and Half Marathon. She currently serves as Team Trainer for Team Sharsheret’s 2027 Miami Marathon and Half Marathon, helping to inspire and support fellow athletes while raising awareness for Sharsheret’s mission.
