Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. How do I connect with someone to hear about their patient experience?
A: After you have done some research, and have found doctors you are considering using, give us a call. You will speak to a member of our support team, and they will search our proprietary database to see if any of our peer supporters have used the doctors you are considering. If we have peer supporters who have used the same doctor, we will connect you with them so you can ask them about their experiences. This will give you the opportunity to learn about a doctor straight from another patient’s experience.
Q: Can I be connected now with someone to hear about their patient experience?
A: As we are currently building our network, we may not yet have a peer supporter identified to speak about the doctor you are considering. This is not a reflection on that doctor, and we hope to be able to connect even more women as our network grows.
Q: How do you determine who to match me with?
A: We will identify any women who have used the doctor(s) you are considering. From within that group, we will try and connect you with someone as similar to you as possible in terms of diagnosis and background.
Q: Can I be matched to discuss multiple doctors?
A: Absolutely! We will be happy to try and match you with different peer supporters based on who you are considering for your treatment team.
Q: Can I get a physician referral through this program?
A: No, this is not a physician referral service. Rather, this is an opportunity to learn from other women about their unique patient experiences with different health care professionals.
Q: What happens if you don’t have a peer supporter in your database that has used the top doctor I am considering?
A: If we do not have anyone who used the top doctor you are considering, but you would still like to be matched, then we encourage you to share additional doctors you are considering. You may also want to reach out to physician referral services by clicking here.
Q: When I’m sharing information about my doctor, what type of information can I share?
A: We encourage you to share your personal perspective and any information that might be helpful in making a decision about selecting a doctor. While we ask our peer supporters not to give direct medical recommendations, we do encourage you to share your personal experience, and answer questions that our callers may have to help them select their treatment team.
Examples of information to share include hours available, communication by staff, and follow up process.
Q: Do I need to be a peer supporter in order to speak about my doctor?
A: Yes. If you are interested in sharing your experience with your doctor with other women, then we will gladly sign you up as a peer supporter! If you are not already a peer supporter, and would like to share, please click here.
