Caryn Gamss, M.D.

My work is rewarding because I am able to develop a lasting relationship with my patients. I believe knowing a patient’s history and seeing their mammogram year after year allows for the best possible care. If someone has a diagnosis of breast cancer, I work my hardest to ensure they see a great surgeon as soon as possible and I am always available to discuss their concerns.

I specifically went into women’s imaging because I felt I could relate to the anxiety surrounding mammograms and breast procedures. My goal is to provide women’s imaging services in a way that keeps the woman calm and emotionally supported. This ensures the patient will continue to undergo yearly mammograms and not abandon screening out of fear or anxiety.

I am a board certified radiologist specializing in Women’s Imaging. My clinical expertise includes a variety of modalities including mammography, ultrasound and MRI. Additionally, I perform a variety of breast interventional procedures such as stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI guided biopsies as well as pre-operative needle localization.

I received my medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society in 2008. I trained in Diagnostic Radiology at the Montefiore Medical Center followed by dedicated fellowships in both Women’s Imaging and Neuroradiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center/ NYP Hospital.
