Breast Cancer and the Mikvah

Melissa K. Rosen, Sharsheret’s Director of National Outreach, will educate mikvah attendants at the Mikveh Association of Long Island in Plainview on how to best meet the needs of women with breast or ovarian cancer attending the mikvah, or ritual bath.

Breast cancer affects all aspects of a woman’s life, including the physical, emotional and spiritual. Mikvah attendants can greatly enhance the mikvah experience for these women, during a very difficult time, by increasing their level of understanding and preparedness. Sharsheret will provide a free seminar to educate mikvah attendants about the issues that impact Jewish women facing breast and ovarian cancer.
