Living Waters: Rituals of Resilience and Renewal

There is a strong history of innovative healing rituals within the cancer community. Judaism has its own rituals as well. Join Sharsheret as we welcome Becca Heisler, a wonderful ritualist and outdoorist, to learn about different water rituals that support healing from the cancer experience, and to participate in creating something new and special for Sharsheret callers. בקה (היא/ה) היא תלמידה רבנית, מטפלת בטקסים ומחנכת. במקור מאומות האוג'יבווה, אודאווה ופוטוואטומי (אזור שיקגו), היא בילתה שנים רבות בטריטוריית ליס'אן אוהלונה (ברקלי/אוקלנד, קליפורניה) שם שירתה את הקהילה על ידי הנחיית תוכניות חינוך יהודיות בחיק הטבע והדרכת טקסי מעבר ארציים לנוער מגן חובה עד י"ב ולמבוגרים בכל הגילאים. היא בוגרת אוניברסיטת טאפטס, מלגת אורבן אדמה ומלגת JOFEE, וכיום היא לומדת להסמכה רבנית במכללה ההיברו. בקה היא תלמידה מסורה של waters, learning transformation, renewal, and interconnectedness. She spends her days in conversation with the ancestors through soulful prayer, joyfully wrestling her way through Talmud study, and listening to the birds.
